Readathons I’m Participating In – July Edition

After having so much fun in June with the #MakeYourMythTaker readathon, I really want to participate in more of them! It’s a great way for me to motivate myself to try new books and also get through some of the ones on my TBR!

Here are the ones I’m going to be going for this month:

June 15th to July 15th:

#kpopreadathon – This is a readathon hosted by the lovely blogger Noura where you can choose a Kpop team and you follow the prompts. While this one is already underway, you can still participate at any time! I chose #TeamBTS because well, I love them… but I might do another team if I have the time!

Here are my reads for the #kpopreadathon!

Month-long Readathons:

1.The Gilded Wolves Readathon – This is a month-long readathon hosted by Michelle @Magical Reads and Mana!

Whether you’ve read it already or are looking for people to read it for the first time, this is a great readathon with a specific schedule for readers to follow! You can follow along on twitter by using the hashtag #thegildedwolvesreadathon

  1. Out Of This World Book Club – This is a discord book club created by the wonderful Kelly and the book of the month is The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin. Unlike other book clubs and readathons, there is no schedule so everyone can read at their pace. To join, just click here!

This book has been on my TBR for ages so now I have the perfect opportunity to actually read it!

Quick Readathon:

July 11th to July 12th: #bookopoly readathon– This is a readathon hosted by the booktuber Becca and the Books. It is a 48hr readathon – with a twist. Using 2 Monopoly boards filled with bookish prompts, the next read is revealed every 12 hours.

There aren’t many rules involved in this readathon and you can mix-and-match prompt between the 2 boars, which makes it easy to fulfill the prompts. All in all, I’m looking forward to a fun experience!

The first prompt choices are already given to start you off:

  • Read a book from the paranormal/magical realism genre OR
  • Use a random generator to pick out your next book!

Check out the full video explaining this readathon in detail here!

While this is not an exhaustive list of readathons happening in July, these are the ones I’ve found and decided to participate in!

Are you part of any of these readathons? Do you know any other ones I should look into?

Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Ooh that’s a lot of readathons so good luck! If you find some time do take part in the Indian Lit Readathon too 😉

    1. Ahhh I definitely will! I made this post before I heard about the Indian Lit Readathon so I didn’t get the chance to include it – but I’m looking forward to seeing what it is all about!

  2. For an organiser of a readathon myself, I hardly ever participate in them oops. I only do that Indian Lit Readathon (organiser) and Dewey’s because the short timeframe works for me. 😀

    1. Oh, I’ve been meaning to look at the Indian Lit Readathon because it sounds so cool and I would really love to participate. I haven’t heard of the Dewey one though

  3. I hope you can read all the books in the readathons you’re participating in! I decided to not participate in any since I’m just getting out of reader’s block, but the Pop Culture readathon seems like so much fun!

  4. oh good luck with all of these readathons!! i was thinking of joining the gilded wolves readathon, to do a reread before i read the sequel, but i don’t have access to a copy 😭 i might be doing the reading rush but not really following any prompts haha!

    1. I just found out about the Reading Rush one and I’m already trying to figure out which books I will try and do for the prompts they’ve given! I’m looking forward to it!

  5. I’m so bad with Readathons but I might do the Kpop one because I LOVEEE BTS and it looks like a lot of fun!

    1. OMG YES!! Definitely do it – it was so much fun and there were so many other kpop groups with their own unique prompts to try!
